The Only Soft Pretzel Recipe You Need

This is the best recipe for soft pretzels with lavender sea salt Chewy, soft, buttery and salty what more do you want from a soft pretzel… maybe a little bit of…spice. I mean lavender for an added edginess. These are delish!!

Start by warming up you water. You want this to be hot tap water to wake up the yeast but not burn it. Let that sit for 5 minutes then add in the rest of the ingredients. The key to this is to let things stir or sit for a long enough time to get those long stretches of gluten. Yaaaaaaas!

The Dough

Once the dough is coming off the sides of the bowl and forming a ball take it out of the bowl and add some oil. Put the dough back in and let us rise for one hour.

Roll out the dough into whatever pretzel shape you want then bath it in a water baking soda bath for 1 minute. Put on a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake until golden brown.

I don’t know about you but when my mouth bites into this slightly sweet dough and then bam, I’m hit with a salty herby lavender it’s just so good! Not all soft pretzels with lavender sea salt are made the same. Actually each dough is not the same. I like my dough to be so soft and have a hearty bite.
