How to Make Adorable Homemade Edible Lavender & Honey Teaspoon Suckers
I first discovered how to make lavender & honey teaspoon suckers when I needed to make lavender candies for a project I was doing. I thought it would be a great idea if I made them on a little stick so we could stir our tea with them. Tea Party We love to have tea parties here at the farm. I grew up having tea parties with all my aunts and cousins. The table would be laden with delectable dishes from tiny fresh berry tarts to warm scones and beautiful finger sandwiches. Now i love to carry on the tradition with my little girl. Sometimes we just have a simple…

A full double blossom with creamy peach coloring on the outside and bright pink centers. These Peaches N Dreams double hollyhocks are a showstopper. People will stop in front of your house just to admire their beauty. I get so many questions and comments on our Peaches N Dreams hollyhocks that I decided to do a quick post about these beautiful flowers. Soothing physically and mentally are these lavender bath bombs. Made with home grown lavender buds and essential oil. We love them and they’re fun to make. Preserving Green Beans
This years green been crop has been amazing. Every other day I go out and the plants are fully loaded. On Monday Prosper and my mother and I went out to do a down to the ground picking. By which I mean we got down on the ground and picked for about 45 minutes and look at that haul! We planted Hulk bush beans and they have been our best harvest. The beans are huge without being lumpy, starchy, and old. They are fresh and crispy and so yummy. Because we harvested so many we had to bottle them so we can have garden beans all winter long. You can…

How to Teach a Child to Garden 3 Best Tips and Tricks
Gardening with a child can be so fun… for them. The mud, the worms, the edible plants, the mud! So. Fun. I do enjoy gardening with my daughter even though it usually means more work. Cleaning said mud, replanting the beans because she decided to walk ON the rows to sing to the plants, potty breaks every ten minutes, and being urgently called away from what I’m doing to come look at a bug or find a worm. It’s all worth it though to be able to teach her the love of gardening and nature. She gets so excited when she pulls vegetables from the garden. And this is probably…

Pea Fences
Pea Fence BasicsI love the look of cute little pea plants coming up out of the ground. Especially if they are accompanied by some woven or arched pea fences. Every spring, very early spring, I prune our fruit trees and I save the tall straight branches that grow each year. With these branches I build my sweet little pea fences.Build your own!The woven and the arched pea fences together are complimentary to each other and draw the eye. I get so many comments on my pea fences I thought I’d show how easy they are to put togetherThe woven fence starts with the branches stuck into the ground and about…
