Melted Jarlsberg and Chicken Crepe

Crepes are so versatile you can make them sweet or savory. Today we made crepes 3 ways with garden fresh ingredients. These fresh crepes are filled with fresh garden ingredients: Strawberries, Lemons, Blueberries, Arugula, Tomatoes, & Red Onion. Surprising elegant flavors fill these garden fresh crepes.

When I lived in Costa Rica I became obsessed with making crepes. Which is weird because it’s not a Central American dish, I made them all the time because I always had the ingredients. Every morning vendors would pass by our apartment calling out their wares, and fresh eggs were always on the menu. I experimented with different ingredient to fill the delicate, thin cake and honestly came to the conclusion that anything can fill a crepe and they will still be amazing.

This week we made three different types of garden crepe; Classic Strawberry Nutella, Elegant Lavender Lemon Curd with Fresh Blueberries, and Sliced Chicken Melted Jarlsberg & Arugula. Use this pan to make crepes easily.

Drizzle the Nutella

For the Strawberry Nutella crepe take 1/2 cup of Nutella and add 1-2 tbsp of water and mix them in a mason jar (this will make the Nutella easy to add in the crepe) slice fresh homegrown strawberries. Roll or fold the crepe and enjoy.

Sliced Chicken, Cheese & Arugula

In this Savory Crepe you can use any type of thinly sliced meat but I prefer the chicken. As soon as you flip the crepe in the frying pan add cheese (melty cheese like mozzarella or Jarlsberg for flavor) and meat to let the cheese melt and the meat warm up. Remove from the pan and add fresh arugula from the garden and your favorite sauce (ours is Mustard Garlic Aioli).

Lavender Lemon Curd & Blueberry

Lavender Lemon Curd & Blueberry

For this Lavender Lemon Curd you just need a few ingredients. Seriously, you can’t miss out on this party for your tastebuds.

Don’t you think Lavender and Lemon were just made for each other. The bright sour taste of the lemon combined with the floral notes of the lavender are just decadent. Plus they photograph beautifully together. You need to try this recipe.

So, to put these crepes together layer some Lavender Lemon Curd then some fresh homegrown blue berries. Fold or roll your crepes and drizzle some fresh whole creme over the top. OH…MY….DELICIOUS. It’s crepe heaven you guys.
